Miss Raghavan Vidya
MS, MD, FRCS (Eng), FRCSI, FRCS (Gen Surg)

She is well experienced in all aspects of breast cancer surgery and breast reconstructive surgery,  incorporating oncoplastic techniques and breast reconstruction in her practice. Her Specialist Interests includes implant based breast reconstruction,Oncoplastic Breast surgery, lipomodelling & minimal axillary surgery.

Miss Vidya has treated well over 1500 women with breast cancer and specialises in reconstructive breast surgery. She has pioneered new method breast reconstruction, called “Muscle sparing Breast reconstruction (Flip and Flop Technique)” which is relatively painless.

Dr Raghavan Vidya is actively involved in clinical trials and founded the Innovations and Advances in Breast Surgery (IABS, https://www.wbm-iabs.com). She has a special interest in mesh based implant  reconstruction particularly in Prepectoral or muscle sparing technique.

She is a frequent invited speaker, demonstrator and faculty member at many national and international breast meetings and conferences.

She qualified in medicine at the University of Madras, India in 1990 and completed higher surgical training in the Wessex and in the West Midlands. She undertook a two year research project entitled Aromatase Inhibitors and Breast Cancer awarding a Master of Surgery degree from the University of Edinburgh.

In 2004, she was awarded the Nuffield Chase Breast & Oncoplastic Surgery Fellowship when she visited the Emory University, Atlanta, USA. In 2007, she was awarded the prestigious traveling scholarship from the Association of Breast Surgeons where he spent some time at the world renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering hospital in New York.
